This detail set replaces the exhaust nozzle from the box with a faithful part in the closed position in 1:72 scale, in the version for the Pratt and Whitney F100 engine. It is a resin, 3D-printed aftermarket set from Reskit for experienced modelers. The closed position corresponds to an aircraft standing on the ground with the engine shut down, and 3D printing faithfully captures the petals and the internal structure.
The F-16 is a single-engine lightweight fighter, one of the most widespread combat aircraft in the world. Some of the aircraft were powered by the Pratt and Whitney F100 engine, whose exhaust nozzle has a different appearance and petal geometry from the competing powerplant, so for a faithful model it matters that the nozzle is chosen to match the actual engine of the aircraft.
Wash the mold release residue off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and the print supports and clean them up. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); sand with respiratory protection. Spray the nozzle in metallic shades and build the heat tints up with glazes; bring the inside out with shading and pigments.
This is a detail accessory, not a standalone model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
