This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The MH models set contains pre-cut masks with which you spray the British national roundels onto a finished model of the Beaufighter Mk.I. A circular insignia is among the most demanding elements of a set of markings, because even a small deviation in the concentricity of the rings shows at once, and a pre-cut mask solves that problem for you.
The Beaufighter was a twin-engine heavy fighter of British design with a bulky fuselage and a short nose. The Mk.I version served among other things in night fighter duties and is one of the types whose color schemes and the form of whose roundels changed in the course of service.
You work from the inner circle outward, or the other way around depending on the make-up of the particular mask. The key is to let each color set before the next mask comes on, because otherwise an edge will be imprinted into the soft finish. Apply the paint perpendicularly and in thin coats; an angled coat pushes pigment under the edge and the ring loses its sharpness. After removing the mask, check the concentricity against the light.
The masks are cut for the Revell kit in 1:48 scale, so please check the match with the model you are building before you buy. Paints and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
