A set of self-adhesive masks for spraying the camouflage pattern onto a model of the Mi-24 attack helicopter in the early A version, 1:72 scale. The cut film is laid onto a cured base shade and serves to bound the further colors precisely. Do not confuse the set with canopy masks: those cover the clear parts, while this set deals with the surface of the fuselage and the lifting surfaces. The masks are cut for the Zvezda kit.
The Mi-24A is the first production version of the Soviet Mi-24 attack helicopter. It is told apart from the later and better known forms chiefly by the large glazed cockpit in which both crew members sat side by side under a single canopy. Only the following versions received separate cockpits with their characteristic stepped canopies.
In 1:72 scale the helicopter has a small and very broken fuselage, so the masks are tiny and crease easily. Lift them off the backing with flat-jawed tweezers and lay them on dry, never onto a damp clear coat. Let the base coat rest for at least a day, in a warm room ideally longer, because imperfectly cured paint still shrinks under the film and the edge is then not sharp. Spray the small pieces ideally in one go and without unnecessarily long handling.
The package contains painting masks only. The model, paints and thinner are not part of the delivery.
