A sheet of waterslide decals from the Polish manufacturer Techmod in 1:72 meant for models of the Mi-24 attack helicopter in the D and W versions, which in Western nomenclature are designated Hind-D and Hind-E. The set replaces or completes the decals from a kit. The package holds the decals only; the model and paints are not part of it.
The Mi-24 is a heavy combat helicopter that joins the attack role with the possibility of carrying a smaller group of soldiers in the rear cabin. This combination is unusual among helicopters and is characteristic of the type. The D version brought a reworked nose with a separate tandem arrangement of cockpits for the pilot and the operator, which is the mark by which it is recognized at first glance. The later W form differed mainly in its armament and in equipment for guided missiles. The type was used by a number of countries of Central and Eastern Europe, so on models you will meet a wide spectrum of camouflage schemes.
The fuselage of the helicopter has a broken surface, so a gloss coat under the decal is a necessity and a softener is worth using even with the smaller motifs. Cut the motifs off one at a time, soak them for a few seconds and move them into place with a brush. With decals on the doors and on the engine covers, check that a motif does not run across the edge of a panel that the model has engraved. Leave the weapons pylons and the areas by the exhausts for last, as decals settle worst there. Once dry, even the surface out with a matte coat, which sinks the film into the finish.
The package holds the decals only. The model, glue and paints are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
