A masking set for a model of the MiG-25PD interceptor in 1:72 scale. Pre-cut parts do away with cutting tape by hand.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-25 is a Soviet twin-engine interceptor built for high speed and high altitude. You can recognize it by the angular fuselage with side air intakes, the high-mounted wing and the pair of vertical tails. The PD designation belongs to the modernized interceptor version. On the model the canopy has busy glazing with prominent framing, so pre-cut masks pay off there most of all.
Pre-cut masking parts for the glazing of the MiG-25PD model in 1:72 scale. The shapes match the framing of a particular kit, so all you do is lift them off the backing, lay them in place and press them down. Which kit the set is cut for and which areas it covers are given in the instructions of the manufacturer; look into them before you assemble the model.
The masks are applied before spraying, onto clean and degreased glazing. Press the edges down firmly with a toothpick or a blunt stick, because it is precisely under an edge that has not settled that the paint creeps in. Spray thinly and rather in several passes; a heavy coat builds a ridge at the edge that stays visible after the mask comes off. Take the mask off soon after the paint has dried, not after several days, when the finish has hardened and can peel away from the edge. Wipe any adhesive residue off the glass with a soft cloth.
For anyone who does not want to cut the covering for the framing by hand and wants sharp transitions between paint and glass. The aircraft kit, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
