An injection-molded plastic kit of the famous North American F-51D Mustang fighter in 1:72 scale from Italeri. The set focuses on machines used during the Korean War and offers decals for several marking options. The package holds plastic sprues, clear cockpit parts and instructions.
The P-51D Mustang was one of the most successful fighters of the Second World War, powered by the V12 Merlin engine and famous for its long range. After the air force became an independent service the designation was changed to F-51. At the beginning of the Korean War in 1950 the Mustang made up a large part of the fighter force and, with the arrival of jets, moved into the ground-attack role in close support of ground troops, armed with bombs and rockets.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. Under natural metal use a smooth gloss base and stir the metallic paint thoroughly, because the pigment settles at the bottom. Coat the glossy areas under the decals with varnish and then flatten them. Do not forget the exhaust stains and the traces of oil on the underside of the fuselage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
