A decal sheet in 1:72 scale for the fighter aircraft North American P-51B Mustang. An accessory to a model that widens the choice of markings beyond the scope of a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The P-51B is the version of the Mustang that made the type famous. The original machine with an American engine was usable only at low altitudes; only the British Merlin engine made it a fighter able to escort bombers all the way to the target and back. Version B still carried the fuselage spine drawn out as far as the tail and a cockpit with a framed canopy; only the later form was given a lowered rear and a bulged canopy with a view in every direction.
Decals worked out in 1:72 scale for the P-51B. Which particular machines and what markings the sheet offers are given by the manufacturer's instructions; the placement of the individual decals on the model is governed by them as well.
First paint the area the decal is to go on and clear coat it with gloss clear. On a smooth gloss a decal will adhere without air bubbles and no silvery edges will form around the printing. Cut the decal out, soak it for a few seconds in lukewarm water, let it rest and then slide it off the paper into place. Draw the excess water off with a soft cloth. On riveted and broken-up areas use softener, so that the printing is pressed against the detail. Once perfectly dry, clear coat the whole model with matte or semi-matte clear, which will hide the edges of the decals.
The kit of the model, paints, clear coats and softener are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
