A resin figure to be painted, not a model. This resin casting from the Czech brand Aerobonus (Aires) in 1:72 scale shows a Soviet fighter pilot. The tiny figure serves to enliven an aircraft model or an aviation diorama in this popular small scale and is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Soviet fighter arm was one of the largest in the world and its pilots flew a whole range of types, from piston machines to jet fighters. A pilot figure in flying kit gives a model scale and a story, whether you seat it in the cockpit or stand it beside the machine in an airfield scene.
In 1:72 scale the figure is tiny, so handle it carefully. Wash the parts to remove mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks gently and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply primer before painting; an airbrush will handle the flying suit, while a fine brush is for the face and the details. A light wash will bring out the folds of the kit.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin casting. Glue, paints and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
