A set of resin aircraft gunsights used by Soviet aircraft in the Second World War in 1:48 scale. It is an aftermarket detail part for the cockpit that will replace the simplified plastic gunsights from the base kit, not a standalone airplane model. The set is universal and can be used across Soviet fighters and ground-attack aircraft of the period.
Soviet fighters and ground-attack aircraft of the Second World War used gunsights in their cockpits, most often of the reflector type. The gunsight is a small but prominent item on the instrument panel and is clearly visible with an open canopy. A faithful rendering raises the realism of the interior.
Resin parts call for more careful work than plastic: first wash them to remove mold release residue, separate them carefully from the casting block (the gate) and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways while sanding and cutting small parts. Apply a primer before painting. The reflector glass can be suggested with a drop of clear varnish or a piece of clear foil; fit the gunsight only after the cockpit is painted and check the position dry.
The part is supplied as a resin accessory, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
