A set of spray masks for Soviet white and yellow outlined red stars — late, in 1:72 scale from Armycast for applying Soviet markings directly in paint.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely cut self-adhesive masks for spraying late war Soviet national stars with a white and yellow edging onto models of Soviet Air Force aircraft in 1:72 scale. You apply the stars directly in paint: lay the mask in place, spray the individual color layers with an airbrush (the edging and the red infill) and, once it is off, you have a sharp insignia with no carrier film. The set replaces decals for this particular form of marking.
The Soviet Air Force used the red star during the Second World War, and its edging developed over the course of the war. The late variants usually carried a white edging and a thin yellow and red line, which set the star apart optically from dark camouflage finishes.
Layer the colors starting from the lightest: the white (and yellow) edging first, then the red infill once it has dried. Press the edges of the mask down carefully and spray thin coats. A painted star weathers better and does not cause silvering on a matte varnish.
This is a separate set of masks. Models, paints and an airbrush are not included in the package.
