An Eduard photo-etched set of metal parts for a model of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IIa in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched metal parts for a model of the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IIa fighter. In 1:72 scale the model is small, and a plastic part on it comes out at the greatest thickness relative to the real subject of any of the common scales. Thin metal therefore tells immediately here: an edge stays sharp and a part looks like sheet, not like a slab.
The Spitfire Mk.II is an early version of the famous fighter, which followed on from the machines of the Battle of Britain. The letter a in the designation concerns the armament: machines marked that way carried eight machine guns in the wings, whereas the version with the letter b had a pair of cannons supplemented by machine guns. The difference is visible on the model on the leading edge of the wing and is worth keeping an eye on, because both variants flew at the same time.
A small scale puts the emphasis on patience. Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface and never break them out with your fingers. Use tweezers with a fine tip and dose the glue in a truly tiny amount, otherwise a drop will cover the whole part. Degrease the metal before painting and apply a primer; on small parts choose the thinnest coats you can, because a heavy coat in this scale swallows all the relief you are putting metal on the model for.
The package contains photo-etched metal parts. The kit, paints, glue and tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
