A resin replacement standard chord rudder for the Spitfire Mk. IX in 1:72 scale from Aires/Quickboost. An accurate casting for refining the tail surfaces of a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin set brings a precisely cast rudder with the standard, narrower chord for models of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IX fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail accessory that replaces the corresponding plastic part of a kit and refines both the shape and the surface texture of the rudder.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IX was a British single-engine fighter of the Second World War, powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. A number of the machines used a rudder with the standard, narrower chord; only the later variants received a broad chord rudder for better directional control. The correct shape of the rudder is therefore a clue to rendering one particular machine faithfully.
First wash the mold release residue off the part, carefully separate it from the casting block and clean it up. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin. We recommend a primer before painting.
This is an accessory for a model, not a stand-alone kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
