Responsibility details are not available.
A newly developed injection-molded plastic kit of the photo-reconnaissance version of the Spitfire PR. Mk. XI in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Kovozavody Prostejov. The package offers a clear one-piece cockpit canopy and decals for machines operated by the US Army Air Forces in the European and Mediterranean theaters.
The Spitfire PR. Mk. XI was an unarmed photo-reconnaissance aircraft derived from the fighter version. In place of armament it carried cameras and extra fuel for long flights over enemy territory. It was powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine and stood out for its high ceiling and speed. Besides the Royal Air Force it was operated in the Second World War by American photo-reconnaissance units as well.
Glue the plastic parts with thin cement for plastic, smooth the seams out and put a primer on before painting. The characteristic glossy blue-gray reconnaissance finish comes out best after airbrushing; gloss varnish under the decals ensures that they seat smoothly. We recommend masking the cockpit for a clean transition between the framing and the glazing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
