A resin service ladder for the Su-27 family in 1:72 scale from LP Models is meant for maintenance scenes. It is an accessory for a model, not an aircraft kit and not a pilot boarding ladder.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin casting of a service ladder intended for machines of the Su-27 family. It is an accessory for aircraft models in 1:72 scale and suits dioramas and maintenance scenes. Watch out for one confusion: this is not a boarding ladder to the cockpit but the taller structure the ground crew uses when working on the aircraft.
The heavy twin-engine fighters of the Su-27 family have a bulky fuselage and access panels set high up. Technicians reach them on service ladders and platforms rolled up to the aircraft; without them a scene with the panels open would look unconvincing. Because the machines of the family, from the basic Su-27 through the two-seat versions to the later derivatives, kept similar dimensions, this type of equipment works across the whole group. In a diorama the ladder forms a natural link between the aircraft and the figures of the ground personnel.
Wash the casting in warm soapy water, cut the casting block off with a saw and wet-sand the surface with respiratory protection. Do not snap the thin rungs. It is bonded with super glue or epoxy. Service equipment gets scuffed and dirty in use, so after the filler primer and the base shade do not spare the wash, the dry brush on the edges and fine chipping. The ladder is also a rewarding element for the composition: stand it next to the model before you finish the base, so that you know how much room the scene needs.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
