A set of masking stencils for a Junkers Ju 52/3m model in 1:72 scale. The stencils are stuck onto the model before the paint is sprayed.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Junkers Ju 52/3m was a German three-engined transport aircraft with a corrugated duralumin skin, recognizable at first glance. In the 1930s it flew in civil colors, and during the Second World War it became the main transport machine of the Luftwaffe, carrying cargo, paratroopers and the wounded. It was powered by three radial engines, and it is precisely those, together with the broad glazing of the cockpit, that give the model its typical character.
The package contains masking stencils for a Ju 52/3m model in 1:72 scale. The stencils are cut for a particular kit, so check before buying which one they are meant for. The exact extent of the masked areas is stated by the manufacturer. Work with the stencils using tweezers; small parts easily crease or get lost.
The stencils are stuck onto a clean, degreased surface before spraying; press the edges down carefully with a fingernail or a toothpick, so that paint does not run underneath. Spray in thin coats and let them flash off. After spraying, lift the stencils off with tweezers, ideally while the paint is freshly dry, and the edge will then stay crisp.
The set suits anyone who does not want to spend hours sticking strips of tape onto subdivided glazing. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
