A resin casting of an American field safe in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Hauler. It is not a model of a vehicle or an aircraft but a small diorama prop — exactly the kind of detail that turns a static scene into a story. The crisp casting faithfully captures the angular cabinet with its door and fittings.
A field safe belongs anywhere documents, money or sensitive material were handled in military service: in command posts, staff tents, field offices and rear-area stores. It works superbly paired with other small equipment — a desk, crates or a field cash box — and suits scenes from the Second World War to modern conflicts.
Before painting, wash the casting in warm soapy water and cut off any casting block. A primer coat is the basis, followed by an olive, gray or khaki shade to suit the scene. Pick out the edges with a dry brush in a metal tone as scuffs, and a dark wash will bring out the recesses around the door and the fittings. A fine dusting with pigments settles the safe into the terrain.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
