The richest sheet in this 1:72 range: twelve marking options for the Polish army from the end of the war to the mid-1960s, from self-propelled guns to armored personnel carriers.
Responsibility details are not available.
Two decades after the war the Polish army was a parade of transition: tracked equipment from the fighting years was seeing out its service alongside postwar newcomers, but both carried the same system of markings. On models that is a rewarding subject, because one sheet gives you the markings for a whole column in which an old tank meets a new armored personnel carrier.
The core consists of several forms of the T-34 medium tank, joined by a heavy self-propelled gun of the ISU series, a lighter 76 mm self-propelled gun and a modernized heavy tank. The more recent period is represented by the T-54A medium tank, the BTR-152 wheeled armored personnel carrier, the amphibious PT-76 reconnaissance tank and, with them, two light vehicles, the BA-64B armored car and the GAZ-67B off-road car. Twelve options in all, divided between the 1950s and the 1960s.
With this many options it pays to pick one column first and cut out its insignia in advance, so that they do not get mixed up on the bench. Decals in this scale take a setting solution well, which draws them into the engraving. Avoid applying it repeatedly, though, as the small print could ripple so badly that you can no longer flatten it out.
The vehicles covered can be bought from several makers and differ in details, so with the option you have chosen compare the shape of the turret and the stowage of the tools against the real thing before you start gluing. Postwar machines tended to be well maintained, so fine wear suits them better than heavy dirt.
