An injection-molded plastic kit of the American nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN-68) in 1:800 scale from Academy. It is a full-hull model supplied with a stand and nameplate, decals and a complete set of deck equipment. The box contains a set of carrier aircraft and vehicles, so you can fill the flight deck with a whole air wing.
USS Nimitz is the lead ship of the class of American nuclear-powered aircraft carriers that bears her name and one of the best known ships of her kind. She entered service in the 1970s and is among the largest warships that have ever sailed. Her angled flight deck, catapults and nuclear propulsion allow her to operate a large wing of combat and support aircraft and to remain at work far from home ports for long periods.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies; with a large hull it is a good idea to true it up first and clean up the parting lines. Apply a primer before painting and put the colors on with an airbrush. The flight deck will stand out once it is coated and the deck markings are applied; it is practical to paint the tiny aircraft while they are still on the sprue. The model can be displayed on the stand supplied.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
