Photo-etched Plates, Large Squares is a photo-etched sheet with large square holes. It suits cases where a mesh is meant to be clearly legible at first glance.

A sheet of photo-etched mesh of the brand Green Stuff World, this time in the coarsest of the three square variants. It is not a finished part for a particular model but material from which you cut an area off as needed. The large grid is legible even from a distance, so it is used where the perforation is meant to be clearly apparent, not merely suggested by texture.
The sheet is cut with ordinary scissors. With a large grid lead the cut through the middle of a bar if possible, not through a hole, otherwise sharp spurs will be left at the edge, which then have to be sanded down. It is glued with cyanoacrylate applied around the perimeter in the smallest amount. Walkway gratings look convincing when a shadow is seen beneath them, so paint the surface under the mesh dark before gluing it in. Once painted, a dark flowing shade into the corners helps, along with light wear with a dry brush on the edges that walking would really wear down.
For builders of dioramas, industrial scenes and wargaming terrain and for modelers of equipment in larger scales. Finer densities are found in the variants with medium and small squares.
The material is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
