An accessory for builders of a two-seat cockpit in 1:32 scale. The sheet carries full-color printed straps, buckles and accompanying elements of the restraint system, which are transferred with water directly onto a plastic or resin seat part. The 3D line means layered printing: once dry a belt has a real thickness and edge, so it does not come across as drawn when seen in an open cockpit.
The Panavia Tornado is a twin-engine combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing, operated among others by the Royal Air Force. It uses ejection seats of the British firm Martin-Baker. In a large scale the crew compartment is clearly visible and a painted seat without restraint belts is the first thing you will notice on a finished model. The particular version of the seat and the contents of the sheet are stated by the maker.
Paint the surface of the seat and varnish it with a clear gloss varnish, so that it is smooth. Then cut the element off together with the edge of the carrier film and lay it on the surface of lukewarm water. Hot water softens the backing too quickly and the adhesive is washed out of it, while cold water does not release it at all. Leave the decal soaked only briefly, take it out together with the paper onto a piece of absorbent card and wait until it starts to slide across the backing by itself. Only then transfer it to the seat, slide it off the paper, position it with a brush and draw the water off. A thin layer of softener follows, then pushing the air out with a cotton swab and calm until it is completely dry. Without that there is a risk of silvering, that is a gray veil under the film. At the end unify the cockpit with a matte varnish.
