A color three-dimensional decal of the instrument panel for models of the Hawker Hunter fighter in 1:48 scale from Kits-World. The name gives the early F.4 and F.5 versions and the designation J34, under which the type was used in Swedish service. The print has a relief of its own, so the panel looks three-dimensional once transferred, and yet it is handled like an ordinary decal, that is with water and without glue.
With sets covering several versions the same holds as with marking sheets: they hold more than will be used on one model and the modeler picks. The difference is that with markings it is a choice of appearance, whereas here it is a matter of matching the real subject, and what decides is which Hunter version you are building. It is therefore worth dry-fitting the motif against the cockpit part before you wet it, and checking that it matches the tub in your kit in both shape and width. Leave the remaining parts of the sheet whole; they will serve on the next build.
Sand the molded detail of the panel in the kit flat and spray the surface with gloss paint. Cut the motif out close, soak it briefly, let it rest and slide it onto the damp base. Blot the surplus water away with a tissue laid on from above without pressure. Dose the softener drop by drop along the edges; a brush is never run across the relief. Once it is dry, flatten the surroundings and leave the dials gloss. The Hunter has a roomy cockpit with a good view inside, so careful finishing tells.
An accessory, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package. The manufacturer makes other sheets for the later Hunter versions; choose by the exact version designation.
