A resin set of idler wheels for the late versions of the StuG III G assault gun in 1:35 scale. The contents are counted for one vehicle, that is for one model. The set is cast to the parts of the Dragon kit; ELEFANT also makes the same type 2 wheel for the Rye Field Model and Miniart kits, so which maker's plastic kit you are building decides the choice.
The idler wheel is constantly in view on a model: it sits at the end of the running gear, where nothing covers it, and its spokes and openings look straight at the viewer. An injection mold has to open, though, so the edges of the spokes come out rounded and the openings tend to have tapered walls. A resin casting is poured differently and the edges stay sharp; on late variants the difference in the form of the rim, which a kit from the box often unifies into a single shape for all versions, is also clearly legible. The type 2 marking says exactly which of the late variants it is; the types are not interchangeable, as each belongs to a different production period.
You will not use the original plastic wheel from the sprue; remove it from the model before you glue the track on. Separate the resin casting from the casting block with a fine saw and true the contact face on abrasive paper laid on a board, so that the wheel sits true to the axis. Wash the part in warm soapy water before gluing, as mold release residue would otherwise keep the paint from taking. It is bonded with super glue. Glue the wheel on only after the track is fitted, if you are using individual-link tracks.
This is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
