1:35 35 Imitation of inspection devices T-90 green (Zvezda)

What the set offers

Items that on a model of the T-90 tank in 1:35 imitate the vision blocks and observation equipment, that is the glass of the periscopes and instruments through which the crew sees out of a closed vehicle. The name gives a green pattern, which matches the color cast of the real optics. According to the name it is cut for the Zvezda kit.

Why it shows on a model

A tank is otherwise matte and dusty, so the vision blocks and the optics are almost the only faces on it with gloss and color. In a kit they tend to be molded from the same plastic as the rest of the vehicle, and once painted they merge into the armor. An inserted item with a color cast gives the model that contrast back, and it shows even from across a display case.

Usage tips

• fit the items right at the end, after the painting, the clear coat and the surface accenting
• pick them up with tweezers, not fingers; a print on a glossy face shows
• clear the seat of the vision block of paint and dust beforehand, so that the item sits flush
• if you are going to glue them, reach for a glue made for clear parts, which will not haze the surface
• the way of fixing them and the placing of the individual items is given in the manufacturer's instructions

The real subject

The T-90 is a Russian main battle tank that follows on from the T-72 design line and serves in many patterns. The layout of the vision blocks differs between the individual versions, which is why a set aimed at a particular kit fits better than a universal solution.

Terms of supply
