1:35 DAK tankers RK award ceremony No. 1 is a resin figure of a tanker in the tropical pattern of the uniform in 1:35 from the PANZER ART brand, conceived as a static ceremonial pose.
Responsibility details are not available.
A figure cast in modeling resin in 1:35, made as an add-on to a finished model of equipment or for a diorama. It is not a vehicle kit. The abbreviation DAK in the name refers to the tropical version of the uniform, which for a modeler is above all an instruction to choose a lighter, sun-faded palette. The pose is static and ceremonial, so it suits a calm, drawn-up scene. The number No. 1 is the sequence marking of the position within the line.
Resin holds the fine detail of hems, pockets and folds. Before you start building, wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap and rid them of mold release agent. Cut the casting block off with a modeling saw a little way from the part, sand the remainder down flat and wipe the parting lines down with fine sandpaper. Sand wet and with your airways protected. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate); on a standing figure it pays to check that the mating surface really is flat, or the figure will lean on a base.
The tropical pattern of the uniform is rewarding to paint: the base sand and khaki shades lighten well and bring the folds out. Proceed from the large areas of the clothing to the equipment and finally to the skin. Create the fading effect by lightening the surfaces exposed to the sun by one or two tones and leaving the seams and the folds darker. Finish the skin with oil paints or heavily thinned acrylics. Fine dust pigments suit the boots and the lower part of the trousers, and they tie the figure optically to the desert base of a diorama. Finish the surface with a matte clear coat.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, a base and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
