German Fallschirmjäger, the Oder Front No. 2 line, 1:35, PANZER ART

A resin figure in 1:35 from the figure line of the maker PANZER ART. Oder Front is the marking of the series and the number 2 states the order of the figure — it is a different pose from the number 1 of the same series, which is offered separately. The figure is meant for dioramas and vignettes.

Execution and material

Resin carries the broken-up cut of a paratrooper smock, the belts and the pouches and the small buckles over faithfully. The casting is supplied on casting blocks, which are cut off before building, and with mold seam lines to be cleaned up.

Building and painting tips

Washing in lukewarm water with dish soap first, because of the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw, level the faces with a file and sand the resin wet with protection for your breathing. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate), fill the seams and sand them over. Start the painting with a thin primer. Camouflaged cloth is painted from the top down: the base tone, larger patches onto it, smaller ones into those and finally fine transitions. The pattern has to follow the folds, or it looks like a print. Then even the contrast out with a thinned filter. Leave the metal buckles and the leather straps with a higher gloss than the canvas; that creates a readable difference of materials. Build the skin from a middle flesh color toward the shadows and the highlights, and paint the eyes with the smallest brush you have. A matte clear coat at the end.
