Wheels for the Rooikat armored vehicle in 1:35 scale are a resin replacement for the parts from the kit. The set deals with the parting line and the shallow tread of plastic wheels.

This is not a model of a vehicle but a set of replacement wheels in resin. On wheeled armored vehicles the wheels are the most prominent detail of the whole build, because there are many of them and they are at the viewer's eye level. Plastic parts from the box tend to be split into halves and to have a clear parting line that is laborious to remove without damaging the tread. A resin casting in one piece removes that problem and at the same time carries sharper detail on the sidewall and the disc.
The Rooikat is a South African wheeled armored vehicle with an 8x8 layout, meant for reconnaissance and for fighting armored targets. The design came about with long road moves under African conditions in mind, which is matched by sturdy wheeled running gear and large tires. It is precisely the size of the wheels that means their quality on a model decides the final impression more than on a tracked vehicle.
Wash the castings in warm water with dish soap and cut the casting blocks off with a saw at the mating surface. Level the cut on abrasive paper on a flat base and sand wet with your airways protected. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). On a multi-axle vehicle it is essential that all the wheels bear evenly, as otherwise the model rocks on its base. Try the assembly dry on a flat board before gluing. Paint the tires dark gray and the discs according to the scheme of the vehicle. An African setting takes strong dusting with a light pigment, applied mainly to the sidewalls and the lower part of the discs, while the crown of the tread stays cleaner.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as resin castings. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
