An injection-molded plastic kit of the SIAI S-211 jet aircraft in 1:72 scale from Kovozavody Prostejov, that is from a Czech manufacturer. It is the basic boxing of this tooling. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and the build is the usual build of a plastic kit: cleaning the parts up, gluing, filling and sanding the seams, spraying and decals.
The S-211 is a light two-seat jet aircraft of Italian design, intended mainly to train pilots and secondarily for light combat tasks. Characteristic of it are the slender fuselage, the high-mounted wing and the tandem cockpit with a raised rear seat, which gives the instructor a good view forward. The combination of low weight and simple maintenance made it an attractive proposition above all for smaller air forces looking for a single machine for training as well as for light tasks. The type became the starting point for a later development in the same design line.
Use thin cement for plastic, which is drawn into the seam by capillary action; a closed joint holds more cleanly than cement applied beforehand. Finish and close the cockpit and the instrument panel before you glue the fuselage halves together. Apply a primer before painting; it evens the base out and shows up imperfect seams. Spray gloss varnish under the decals and once they have dried seal them with a varnish in the degree of sheen you want. Trainers often carry conspicuous high-visibility areas, and in a small scale those are better sprayed through a mask than painted with a brush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
