Nunu Models 1:24 Toyota Corolla Levin AE92 24H Spa is an accessory set of photo-etched parts for a model of the racing car. It is not a kit but a detailing set for a base model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set is not a model of a car. It is a set of photo-etched parts of thin sheet metal that a modeler adds to a plastic model of the racing Toyota Corolla Levin AE92 in its configuration for the 24-hour race at Spa. The manufacturer is Nunu Models, a brand focused on models of circuit and rally cars and on accessories for them.
Photo-etched parts are tenths of a millimeter thick, so they can replace places that cannot be made from plastic in a realistic thickness: grilles, mountings, radiator screens, belts, interior fittings or small linkages. On a racing car it is precisely these details that set an ordinary build apart from a competition one.
The Toyota Corolla Levin AE92 is the sporting version of the compact Corolla from the years 1987 to 1991. In Group A racing the AE92 appeared at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s as a car in a lower capacity class, where it made its way on reliability and low weight. The endurance race at Spa-Francorchamps was among the high points of the Group A calendar, and this Corolla started in it.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a scalpel on a hard surface, not with scissors. Make the bends in a bending tool or between two blades. They are bonded with a minimal amount of super glue, and in visible places a gel version is better, as it wicks less. Degrease the metal parts and spray them with a primer for metal, otherwise the paint will not hold. On a painted body, fit the photo-etch only after the paint has been polished, so that the surface is not scratched.
It is an accessory set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue, paints and tools are not included in the package.
