An injection-molded plastic kit of the Douglas DC-9 Series 30 airliner in 1:144 scale from SabreKits, in the livery of the Australian carrier Trans Australia Airlines and of its scheme known as the T-Jet. The package contains plastic sprues, clear window parts and decals for that livery. The model is meant to be glued and painted.
The Douglas DC-9 was a twin-engine narrow-body airliner with the engines at the rear on the sides of the fuselage and a T-tail. The Series 30 was the most numerous version, with a lengthened fuselage. Trans Australia Airlines operated its jets under the commercial name T-Jet and used them on the domestic network across Australia, where they handled dense schedules reliably.
Glue the fuselage and the wings with a thin cement and sand the joints carefully so that the gloss surface shows at its best. The base is a smooth white applied over a primer with an airbrush; settle the decals on a gloss varnish. Fit the landing gear only after painting. The model can also be finished in a flying attitude on a stand.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
