Pratt & Whitney JT8D-17B is a resin set of two replacement engine nacelles in 1:144 scale for models of the Boeing 727-200 Advanced. It replaces the plastic parts from a kit with more faithful powerplants.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a stand-alone kit of an airplane. The package contains a pair of JT8D-17B engine nacelles for the three-engine Boeing 727-200 Advanced airliner in 1:144 scale. The castings replace the simpler plastic parts from the base kit and refine the shape and the surface of the powerplants.
The Boeing 727 is an American narrow-body airliner characterized by three jet engines grouped at the rear of the fuselage and a T-tail. The 727-200 Advanced version was among the most widespread and used more powerful variants of the JT8D engine. A more accurate fit of the nacelles helps a model keep the typical silhouette of the real subject.
First wash the resin parts free of residue of mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off carefully and join them with cyanoacrylate glue. Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Apply a primer before painting; the surface of the engines is usually finished in metal shades with light emphasis of the panels.
This is a resin detail set. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
