A set of modeling heads with the British steel helmet Mk I with a chin strap, in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The British steel helmet designated Mk I has the unmistakable shape of a shallow bell with a wide brim around its circumference. Soldiers of the British army and of the Commonwealth armies wore it, and in a simpler form it appeared in civil defense as well. It is precisely the wide brim and the chin strap that make the helmet an element hard to get around on a small figure, one that easily gives away an inaccuracy.
The set carries replacement heads with this helmet in the form with a chin strap, in 1:72 scale. It serves for replacing the heads on figures from kits, where the shape of the helmet tends to be simplified, or for building figures of your own from the parts of several sets. The number of heads in the package and their poses are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down with fine sandpaper. Cut the original head off with a saw or a blade and level the mating surface, so that the head does not sit askew. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Faces are painted in thin layers, so that the relief stays apparent; it helps to set the chin strap apart in a different shade than the helmet.
For modelers who build scenes with British soldiers in a small scale and want to give their figures better heads than the basic kit offers. It will also be appreciated by collectors who put together their own arrangements of soldiers from the parts of several sets and need to unify the headgear. Figures, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
