Responsibility details are not available.
A masking set from Peewit for a model of the Sikorsky H-34 helicopter, also known under the manufacturer's designation S-58, in 1:144 scale. This is not a kit and not decals: the set serves to cover the surfaces that are to stay clean after spraying, above all the cabin glazing. The model, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
The masks are stuck onto cleaned and degreased glazing before spraying. The edges have to be pressed down firmly with a toothpick or a blunt point, so the paint cannot creep under them - this is exactly what decides whether the transition is sharp. Spray in thin coats; a heavy coat tends to form a ridge at the edge of the mask. Take the mask off while the paint has only just dried, not after several days, and pull it parallel to the surface rather than straight up. In a small scale, tweezers with fine jaws are worth having.
For modelers who are building the helicopter in 1:144 scale and do not want to paint the cabin frames with a brush. Painting by hand is tedious in this scale and rarely comes out with a sharp edge, whereas a mask holds the shape of the frame as molded. It will also be appreciated by anyone building in series who needs several models finished identically.
An accessory for the model. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
