This is an aftermarket detail set from the Japanese brand Top Studio in 1:12 scale. It is not a motorcycle model but a front fork set in turned metal with photo-etched parts added. You use it to replace the simplified fork on a model of the 1999 Yamaha YZR500 racing motorcycle in 1:12 scale and to give the front end of the machine a realistic look.
The Yamaha YZR500 was a two-stroke 500, one of the iconic machines of the premier class of the road racing world championships in the two-stroke era. The telescopic front fork with its dampers is a prominent and moving feature, and a convincing version in metal shows to great advantage on it.
Clean up the metal parts and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The polished metal parts of the fork can be left in bare metal or painted once a primer has been applied. Try the seating dry before gluing them in.
The detail set does not hold the model of the motorcycle itself. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
