An accessory to a model, not the model itself. This variant covers the later period of the racing Honda RC211V, that is, the seasons from 2003 to 2006, when the machine went through a series of modifications to its power unit. For a modeler what matters above all is that the configuration of the clutch differed between the seasons, and Top Studio therefore makes several versions of the same assembly.
How to choose the right version
The ranges of seasons of the individual variants overlap in the boundary years, so when building a particular machine it pays to compare the part with documentation of the given season and team. If you are building a model without the intention of hitting an exact season, nobody will mind the difference on the finished model; if it is a competition build of one particular machine, choosing the right variant is crucial.
Cut the original plastic part off only at the moment when you have the replacement at hand and can try it dry straight away. Level the mating surface with a file, so that the part does not sit crooked, because even a small tilt is visible on the side of the engine. Bond with super glue drop by drop applied with a toothpick. Paint off the model, over a thin coat of base, with a metallic shade and a dark wash in the recesses; thick paint floods the fine edges. The assembly is fitted onto a finished engine, so leave it until the end and avoid touching it during further handling of the model.
