The Yamaha YZR500 is a factory racing motorcycle of the top road class up to 500 cc with a two-stroke engine. The machines of this class were in their day the sharpest thing that appeared on the circuits: a light frame, the bare minimum of equipment and an engine that delivered its power in a narrow band of revolutions. The designation 0W98 is the factory code of the form with which the machine is tied to the 1988 season and to the color scheme listed under the name Tech 21.
A plastic kit of a motorcycle in 1:12 scale, that is in the form in which motorcycles are most often collected. The scale is big enough for the frame, the engine and the routing of the hoses to stand out on the model, and at the same time small enough for the finished machine to fit into an ordinary display case. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Paint the frame and the engine before assembly, as after gluing you will not reach many of the surfaces. Spray the fairing separately and over a smooth undercoat: the glossier the surface, the better further coats hold on it and the less the transitions are visible. Do not glue parts of different materials, for example the rubber tires, with cement for plastic, as it has no effect on them. Glue the clear parts with a cement intended for transparent plastics, so that they do not go matte. Always go through the contents of the package and the order of the steps according to the manufacturer's instructions before the first cut.
For collectors of racing motorcycles and for modelers who are fond of a build with a great many small parts. The paints, the glue and the tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
