A decal sheet in 1:72 scale intended for a model of the Heinkel He 111 H aircraft in the fit with the FuG 220 airborne radar. It offers the markings of two machines, whose fuselage codes are CR+EJ and DJ+CW.
The He 111 H was a twin-engine all-metal bomber of the Luftwaffe of the Second World War, built in a long series of equipment versions. The FuG 220 was a German airborne radar, and machines carrying it are recognized by the conspicuous antenna array projecting from the nose. A model built in this form therefore differs at first glance from an ordinary bomber He 111 and tends to be a rewarding piece in a modeling display case.
Proceed as with the usual decal sheets: cut the element out close around the printing, put it into lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it starts to slide freely off the backing. Then slide it onto a dampened place on the model, adjust it with a brush, draw the excess water off and let it dry without sliding it any further. A smooth gloss varnish under the decal will limit silvering, and a decal softener will help to settle large elements across engraving. Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive version, because a soaked self-adhesive film can no longer be saved.
The sheet will be appreciated by modelers who build the He 111 in 1:72 scale and want to finish it in the less usual form with radar. On German machines the fuselage codes were applied to the sides of the fuselage, so it is a good idea to have the flanks polished and varnished in advance.
The package contains decals. The kit, the paints, the varnish and the glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
