An easy-to-build plastic kit of the destroyer USS Spruance (DD-963) in the small collector's scale of 1:1250 from the manufacturer Hobby Boss. The kit has a low part count, offers the choice of a full hull or a waterline version and comes with a display stand. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
USS Spruance was the lead ship of the class of destroyers of the same name in the US Navy. The gas turbine powered vessels concentrated above all on anti-submarine warfare and on escorting task forces. The hull of the Spruance class became the basis for the later Ticonderoga class guided missile cruisers. The ship served from the mid-1970s.
In a small scale a clean coat and a fine separation of the decks pay off. Assemble the hull, sand the parting joint over and spray the base gray with an airbrush in thin coats. Pick out the detail of the superstructure with a brush, a fine wash will bring out the shadows and a light dry brush will pull out the edges of the superstructure.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
