This is not a kit of the car. It is an accessory set of photo-etched parts that refines the detail of the plastic kit of the racing Toyota Carina E in the form of the winner of the Knockhill round in 1993, in 1:24 scale from the Beemax brand. The set is meant for building that particular kit and does not replace the model on its own, so you need the base kit for the work as well.
Photo-etched parts are made from thin metal sheet, so they keep a thickness true to scale where injection-molded plastic has to be thicker for technical reasons. Typically these are parts that on the real car take the form of thin sheet, a grille or small fittings. The result is a sharper and truer look, above all in the places the eye falls on first. Check the particular extent of the set on the box.
Cut the parts off the fret with a sharp knife or a scalpel against a hard surface rather than with pliers, so that they do not bend. Make the bends in a bending tool or between two blades, always in one movement. Degrease the metal before painting and use a primer with good adhesion on a smooth surface. Bond the photo-etched parts with a small amount of super glue or with varnish, as ordinary plastic cement does not hold on metal. Tweezers with fine tips and a work surface with a light finish make the job markedly easier.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
