DUAL EXO 7B – ASTEROID BROWN 60ML.

Asteroid Brown, AK interactive acrylic paint, 60 ml

This is an acrylic modeling paint from the AK interactive brand. The name carries the name of the shade, Asteroid Brown, the designation of the Dual Exo range and the figure for the volume, 60 ml. Once dry it leaves a satin, that is semi-gloss, finish.

What a semi-gloss means on a model

The satin degree of sheen lies exactly between flat and gloss. It does not mirror like a gloss coat, which in a photograph blows out every sharp reflection, but neither does it swallow light the way a full flat finish does. The result is a surface on which the shape of a part and fine engraving stay legible, and which at the same time takes further modeling steps well. A semi-gloss base is rewarding even when decals or further work are to go over the coat.

Use

• Mix the paint thoroughly before working, as with acrylics the pigments settle at the bottom of the bottle.
• Clean and degrease the base beforehand; on a smooth surface free of grease the coat holds noticeably better.
• Apply several thin coats rather than one thick one, as a thin coat will not fill the detail in.
• It is worked with like other modeling acrylics, that is with a brush as well as an airbrush.
• Check the thinning ratio, the recommended thinner and the drying time against the details on the label.
• A finished coat can be sealed with a varnish in whatever degree of sheen you want on the model.

Who the paint is for

For modelers who want a particular shade from the AK interactive range in a semi-gloss form and in a 60 ml bottle. It will be reached for both by builders who paint with a brush and by those who work with an airbrush.

When spraying, work in a ventilated space and protect your airways. Close the bottle carefully after use, keep it out of the reach of children and follow the instructions and safety symbols on the label.
