This is a colored decal set for the interior of a model of the F-15 in 1:32 scale, intended according to the name for the early forms of the F-15C and the F-15A and for the early F-15J. It is not a kit but an accessory: a print with a three-dimensional effect is applied to model parts that have already been built and painted. This is the full version of the set; alongside it there is also a smaller version.
The F-15 Eagle is a twin-engine fighter with a high thrust-to-weight ratio and a large wing area. The A version was the original single-seat variant, the C brought further development and the F-15J is the licensed Japanese form. The early cockpit configuration differs from the later one in the arrangement of the instruments, which is why a number of decal sets distinguish the early and late forms.
Preparation of the surface decides the result. Overcoat the painted part with gloss varnish; on a matte surface air remains under the film and the edges of the decal show through with a silvery look. Release the decal after about fifteen seconds in lukewarm water, move it into place and blot up the excess water. Do not use a decal softener or setting solution; their chemicals would damage the printed resin and ruin the element, and do not touch the set while it is drying. At the end unify the interior with varnish according to the sheen you want.
The set replaces the flat kit parts — from smooth plastic it makes a colored surface with a three-dimensional impression, and brush-painting the smallest areas falls away. Before application, degrease the plastic and sand down any coarse relief so that the decal settles over its whole area.
The set is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. Paints, glue and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
