This is a modeling brush with synthetic bristles, size 3, from the STANDARD line by the Polish manufacturer Mirage Hobby. It is not a kit or a model, but a painting tool. The STANDARD line is a working, all-purpose one — synthetic bristles handle solvent-based paints and rougher use better than natural hair, hold their shape, and are easy to replace, so it is not such a loss to wear out one in everyday workshop use.
Size 3 is the smaller of the pair: it has a narrower stroke and is easier to control in tight spots, but holds less paint. It is therefore not suited to continuous coats — before you cover the area, the paint at the edges will start to dry and the coat will streak and show brush marks. That is what size 5 is for, which holds more paint and covers an area in fewer strokes. Choose 3 when precision matters, 5 when coverage matters. Many modelers keep both at home and switch between them depending on the part.
Even a synthetic brush is ruined by paint drying near the ferrule. Rinse it right after use with the thinner matching the paint type (water or acrylic thinner for acrylics, solvent-based thinner for enamels). Do not store the brush tip-down submerged in thinner — the bristles will bend and never straighten again. Do not press on it; the tip applies the paint, not a bent side. Dry it lying flat or tip-up.
For modelers who need a reliable detail brush for everyday work and do not want to wear out a natural-hair brush on touch-ups and solvents.
The brush is a tool, not a kit. Paints and thinners are not included in the package. Use thinners in a ventilated area and out of the reach of children.
