A finished model placed straight on a shelf has nothing around it to give it scale, and every time it is moved you have to touch it on a wing or on the tail. A base solves both: it gives the model a frame, protects the landing gear and the propeller from resting on a hard surface, and when handling it you pick up the base rather than the model. In a display case it also brings several machines together into one arrangement.
The set is cut for models of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 in versions E, F and G in 1:48 scale and carries a motif linked to the JG 52 unit marking. It is supplied as a kit-form set to be assembled before use. The dimensions, the material and the exact make-up are given by the manufacturer, so please follow the enclosed instructions.
First put the parts together dry and check whether the model sits on the base the way you want it to; only then glue. If you are going to paint the base, wash and degrease the surface beforehand and apply the paint in several thin coats. Seat the model right at the end, once building and painting are complete. If you want it removable, attach it with double-sided tape under the wheels; for a permanent fit a drop of cyanoacrylate glue on the contact patch of the wheels is enough.
The model of the aircraft, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
