This set from the Czech maker Brengun is intended for a model of the Boeing 737-300 airliner in 1:144 scale and is shaped for one particular kit, the Minicraft one. It is not an airplane model but an accessory bought to go with a base kit, replacing or refining its parts. It is cast in resin, a material that holds sharp edges and fine surface texture considerably better than injected plastic.
The Boeing 737-300 opened the 737 Classic line. It is a twin-engine narrow-body airliner with high-bypass turbofan engines whose nacelles have a characteristically flattened lower section. That is exactly what distinguishes the Classic line from the older versions at first glance, and it is also where the quality of the shape shows most on a model. The type was built from the mid-1980s and became one of the most widespread machines on short and medium routes.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water first. There is usually some mold release agent left on the surface, and without washing neither paint nor glue will hold. Do not snap the casting blocks off; cut them with a fine-bladed saw and finish with a scalpel. Sand wet and with respiratory protection, as resin dust should not be inhaled. It is bonded with super glue, that is cyanoacrylate, applied in drops on the tip of a wire. Apply a thin primer before painting, which blends the resin with the surrounding plastic. In 1:144 scale work over a light surface, as the parts are small and easily lost.
This is an accessory to a model, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
