1:144 C-130 Hercules wheels is a resin set of wheels for a model of the C-130 Hercules transport aircraft in 1:144 scale, an accessory to a kit you have already bought rather than the model itself.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set replaces the landing gear wheels from a plastic kit with castings in modeling resin, which hold sharper detail on the hub and on the sidewall of the tire. It is intended for 1:144 scale and is made by Brengun of the Czech Republic. The model of the transport aircraft is not included in the package: the set is fitted to a kit you already have.
The Lockheed C-130 Hercules is a four-engine turboprop transport aircraft with a high-mounted wing and landing gear retracted into side fairings on the fuselage. The main gear consists of a pair of wheels in tandem on each side, so more of them are visible on a model than on a fighter and their quality tells more in the final impression. The aircraft is also designed for landing on unpaved surfaces, which is reflected in its sturdy tires.
With multi-wheel landing gear what matters most is being level: every wheel has to rest on the surface at the same time. After cutting off the casting blocks, stand the model on glass and sand out any differences. When painting, it works well to spray the whole wheel in the tire shade first and then brush the hub over, or to make a simple circular mask for the hub from tape. On this type the wheels tend to show dirt from operating on grass and dusty surfaces, and a thin layer of pigment on the lower part of the tire goes a long way.
The accessory set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
