This item is not a model of an aircraft but an accessory for one. It is a masking set for the clear parts of a miniature Dewoitine D.520 from the Czech brand Brengun, which has long specialized in small scales. The mask covers the areas of glazing, so that after spraying they stay transparent and the framing of the canopy comes out with a sharp transition.
The cockpit frames of a fighter from 1940 measure fractions of a millimeter in 1:144. Drawing the lines by hand with a brush here usually ends in paint running over and fogged glass, because the track of the brush is wider than the frame itself. A finished mask holds the shape for you and the result is the same on the second piece you build.
It aims at modelers who build aircraft in 1:144 and do not want the canopy to spoil an otherwise successful model. The Dewoitine D.520 was among the highest-performing French fighters of 1940 and flew after the armistice too, so it suits collections of French as well as captured aircraft of the Second World War.
