1:144 LET L-13 Blanik is a photo-etched accessory set for models of the Czech Blanik glider in 1:144 scale, packed for two models, an accessory to a kit rather than a kit itself.

The photo-etched set holds parts etched from thin metal sheet that supplement and refine the detail of a plastic kit. According to the name the package is meant for two models, so you can build a pair of gliders at once, which makes sense with the Blanik, because in service it was rarely seen on its own. The set is cut for the Mark I Models kit and is made by the Czech maker Brengun. The base model is not included in the package.
The LET L-13 Blanik is a two-seat all-metal glider designed in Czechoslovakia and built at Let Kunovice. It became one of the most widespread training gliders in the world and flew on practically every continent. For a modeler it is interesting for its clean shapes, its slender wing and the large glazed area of the canopy, through which the inside can be seen, so the detail of the interior and the thinness of flat parts tell more on it than on a closed aircraft.
On a glider in a small scale the most valuable parts are precisely those that should be thin: the instrument consoles, the seats, the seat belts and the air brakes on the wing. Separate the photo-etched parts with a scalpel, bend them along the etched line and dry-fit a part first if the shape is more complex. Degrease the metal before painting and spray it with a primer. Because the glazing of the Blanik is extensive, it pays to finish and glue in the interior before the fuselage is closed, as tweezers will no longer reach through a finished cockpit.
The accessory set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
