A set of German infantry helmets from the Second World War in 1:16. An accessory for figures and for dioramas with large models.
Responsibility details are not available.
The German steel helmet of the Second World War is among the most easily recognized pieces of military equipment of all. Its shape, with a forward-set brow and the shell drawn down over the ears and the nape, came about earlier and during the war changed mainly in details: in the design of the ventilation holes and in the treatment of the edge of the shell. On a figure the helmet is a dominant element, because it shades the face and determines how the figure comes across.
This is a collection of German infantry helmets in 1:16. In a large scale a helmet will carry more work than on tiny figures: the edge of the rim, the transition of the shell and the way the helmet sits on the head are all visible. Besides being put on a figure it also suits being a piece set down in a scene, that is hung on equipment, laid on a crate or on the ground beside a trench. The set is therefore usable both for finishing off figures and for filling empty places in a diorama.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remnant down, so that the thin edge of the rim is preserved. Wash and degrease before painting, and choose the glue according to the material stated on the package. Paint the helmet separately and only then put it on, otherwise you will have trouble reaching the face. A matte surface will take a light rubbing of the edges with pigment or graphite, with which you suggest chipped paint, and a dark glaze under the rim, where a shadow would naturally lie.
The package is an accessory. The figures, the paints and the glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
