Replacement tires for the Sd.Kfz. 234 in the type 3 version

Interchangeable wheels for all the axles and for the spare bracket on a model of the German heavy reconnaissance car. The bottom of the tire is compressed and the sidewall bulges slightly, which matches a wheel carrying the weight of the vehicle; the three in the designation refers to another of the period tread patterns. A 1:16 model lets such a detail be recognized even without a magnifier.

The 234/1 version with a 20 mm cannon

The most numerous rendition of the family carried an open hexagonal turret with a 20 mm automatic cannon and a coaxial machine gun. The open roof gave the commander an overview of his surroundings, which matters more in reconnaissance than armor, and the light weapon was enough to scatter infantry and to destroy light targets. The crew had the task of finding the enemy, describing him and vanishing before it could be shelled. It was precisely this role that made the vehicle a tool which in the closing phase of the war drove on both sides of the continent.

Building recommendation

This order of work has proved itself: first finish and paint the axles, then fit the wheels, and only at the end apply the mud effects across both at once, so that the transition between the wheel and the wheel arch does not look separate.
