The Messerschmitt Bf 109 is among the most built subjects of all, and its landing gear is one of its recognition features: the legs are attached to the fuselage, have a narrow track and a pronounced rake, so a standing model rests on its wheels at an unusual angle. The wheels were changed several times during production and differ both in size and in the rendering of the disc; by them the individual production runs can be told apart.
The set replaces the main wheels from the kit with the late guise with a stamped disc, which carries the size 660 x 160 in its designation. It is intended for the Bf 109 in the E, F and G-2 versions. On a finished model a wheel is at the eye level of the viewer and both its shape and the pattern of the disc are visible from a distance, so it is a replacement that tells even on a model otherwise built out of the box.
The parts are not made of polystyrene, and cement for plastic kits will not hold on them; use cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder back carefully, so that the circular outline of the tire is preserved. Wash and degrease before painting. Set the disc apart in shade from the tire and do not tone the tire down to black; dark gray looks more faithful on a model.
The kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
