The product carries the name of the shade Purple. It is a paint from the assortment set aside for the drybrushing technique, that is a finishing coloring medium.
Drybrushing works with one single thing: the difference in lightness between a raised and a recessed place. After a uniform spray coat a model looks flat, because the same paint reflects light the same way everywhere. As soon as a different tone gets onto the edges and the raised structures, the eye reconstructs the shape at once. It does not have to be a lightening either — a shift into a different color tone works just as well, bringing the surface to life and ridding it of the impression of uniform plastic.
The technique comes in turn after the base coat and after it has fully matured. Before it the shadows are usually deepened; after it the model is unified with a final surface treatment, so that the treated places do not have a different sheen from their surroundings. The work itself takes minutes, but checking from a distance between the individual layers is just as important as the strokes themselves.
For modelers who want to give a model back its depth with no airbrush, and for figure painters and diorama builders looking for an unconventional tone for a highlight palette.
Keep the paint tightly closed and out of the reach of children, and ventilate while working. You will find the instructions for thinning and processing on the manufacturer's packaging.
